Mit Schmackes

… is a down-to-earth restaurant bar right in the heart of Dortmund. Situated at the intersection of three important arterial roads, Kreuzstraße, Saarlandstraße and Hohe Straße, it offers its guests a textbook example (pun intended) of Westphalian home-style cooking. The idea to the restaurant emerged, when manager Christopher Reinecke found an old, hand-written cookbook with regional recipes in his grandparents’ attic. Not only because of their culinary value, but also due to tradition, these dishes had to find their way onto the plates of gourmets all over Dortmund. Rather quickly and, that's for sure, with lots of flavour.

So Reinecke (trained salesman for gastronomy) called his buddy Kevin Großkreutz (graduate ball kicker) and they became business partners in the restaurant trade on the spot. The result of a collaboration between a restauranteur and a professional football player is a unique restaurant in industrial design with amazing schnitzels and a lot of memorabilia by and from the former Borussia Dortmund and national team midfielder Großkreutz adorning the walls.
